In an effort to help producers more efficiently cut, bale, and wrap a wide array of forage, John Deere is rolling out the C451R and C461R Combination Round Balers. These pieces of equipment are perfect for producers who want to use individual wrapped or in-line bagged forage for silage.

The balers use the John Deere V-Series Variable-Chamber Baler with 7-foot wide pickup and MaxiCut? precutter with up to 25 knives to size the length of cut. The two levers on the side of the baler give the operator the ability to engage one of two knife banks, or both, to reach the desired length of cut.

The feeding system has a large diameter, fully integrated converging auger. This ensures that there is a smooth, consistent flow of all types and condition of forages into the MaxD bale chamber. In the end, producers have a more uniform bale size and density for improved storage and handling.

"The C-Series Combination Balers also incorporate Deereā€™s new film wrapping system into one fast, seamless process," said Nick Weinrich, tactical marketing manager for John Deere hay tools. "Instead of bales released to the ground, with the combination balers finished bales are transferred to the adjoining wrapping area on the attached transport table, where they are completely film wrapped, sealing out oxygen and locking in nutrients."

The C451R and C461R Combination Round Balers are now officially available for ordering and will be available in time for the early 2020 cover crop harvest. For more information, contact your local John Deere dealer or visit JohnDeere.com.
